Crystal Costa

GMNW Anchor/Producer

She is thrilled to be a part of the Tri-Cities and Yakima communities, where the people have been extremely friendly and welcoming. Crystal is in awe of the Columbia River and the beauty of Eastern Washington.

Crystal Costa joined the KAPP/KVEW News Team as Good Morning Northwest Anchor and Producer in October 2009. She is a California girl from Visalia, located in the Central Valley.

Crystal has been performing, singing, and dancing ever since she could walk. It was in high school when she realized her passion for the news industry and storytelling. Crystal graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University Monterey Bay. While majoring in Communications, she began exploring the business writing for the school newspaper. She also landed an internship and started writing and shadowing reporters at KION 46 News in Salinas/Monterey. After a year, the internship turned into an amazing job opportunity. Crystal was hired as Associate Producer of the Morning Show where she learned to produce, write scripts, and everything in between. Months later she was promoted to Producer of the show.

After a year behind the camera learning the ends and outs of the business Crystal was ready to start a new adventure, reporting. She took her first reporting job at KJCT News 8 in Grand Junction, Colorado. She spent two years as a one-man-band. She shot video for her stories, edited the clips, reported live in the field, and even anchored. She had amazing experiences covering breaking news like a plane collision in mid-air, massive fires, political rallies including then Presidential candidate John McCain's, and even the Junior College World Series.

Although Crystal loved reporting and meeting new people, she felt right at home behind the anchor desk. She is honored to join the Good Morning Northwest team. She is thrilled to be a part of the Tri-Cities and Yakima communities, where the people have been extremely friendly and welcoming. Crystal is in awe of the Columbia River and the beauty of Eastern Washington. When she is not working, she loves watching movies, reading, spending time with her loved ones, and being involved with the community. She is also an animal fanatic.
