WAPATO -- The Yakima County Sheriff's Office says an early morning homicide near Wapato, may be drug-related.

55 year old Lenard Cohenour was found dead in a car near Phillip John and Winaway roads. He suffered one gunshot to the chest.

    The victim lived in a trailer park near the crime scene. Police say interviews with family and friends suggest that drugs may have played a part in his death.

"It appears that he might have been involved in some narcotics activity, and he went to meet someone. It's a pretty remote location, and might have gone to meet someone at that time," says Chief Stew Graham.

    An autopsy on Cohenour is scheduled for tomorrow. Meanwhile, authorities want anyone with information on the homicide to call the Sheriff's office, or Crimestoppers.
