YAKIMA, WA -- Press Release:
Yakima, Washington (November 3, 2008) - Yakima Valley Credit Union is hosting a FREE seminar that will help you learn how to read your credit score and what it all means and how the changing economy is affecting your score.
Building a strong credit history means more than getting approved for a credit card. It means paying all bills on time, keeping a lid on how much you owe to other people, responsible credit use over a long period of time, and having a healthy mix of credit over time. Your credit history-good or bad-follows you throughout your lifetime and has a significant impact on your family's well-being and overall bottom line.
Yakima Valley Credit Union wants to give you the tools to lay a solid foundation for your future. Come to an informational session, "You and your Money: Build a Strong Credit History," on Thursday, November 13 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm in the boardroom of the Yakima Valley Credit Union Administration Building, 501 S. 5th Ave.. There's no cost to attend. The seminar is geared toward individuals and families who are just beginning their financial life, as well as those who may have gotten side-tracked along the way and need to start fresh for whatever reason, or those who want to make sure they're on the right track.
At the seminar, you'll learn who needs to build good credit and why, the significance of your credit report and credit score, how to establish credit if you don't have any, how to rebuild a good credit history, tips for using credit wisely, pitfalls that could cost you plenty, and your rights and responsibilities. You'll learn how to evaluate your own situation by discussing a case study-an individual not unlike others who didn't understand the implications of early financial decisions on the ability to get credit down the road.
Join us for a fun learning experience to help you develop a personal action plan and gain financial peace of mind. All are welcome. Call Amy Cziske at (509) 225-6496 to reserve your spot before Tuesday, November 11.
