YAKIMA -- A Kittitas county woman has some unusual plans for her lottery winnings.
Ida Bakeman of South Cle Elum hugs her husband over her good fortune. Only today did the thrill of pocketing $250-thousand from the Mega Millions game finally hit her. Bakeman plans to pay off some bills. She won't buy a new car, but she'll get a new lawnmower to keep her yard looking spiffy.
"I have four of them in my backyard, and none of them work, and that you know, just reminds me, yes, all four of them are gonna go and there's gonna be a new one, not a riding one, and not a pusher one, but a good one," says Bakeman.
Bakeman plays the lottery faithfully, plunking down ten dollars on scratch tickets every week. She'll pocket $187-thousand after taxes.
