$7 Million Awarded For School Safety
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction is dividing $7 million dollars amongst 80 school districts in Washington.
The grants given to the schools are to be used to install emergency response systems.
These systems will shorten the time it takes for emergency crews responding to an incident at schools.
The intent of SB 5197, passed in 2013, is to push school districts to create new
emergency response systems incorporating "evolving technology."
