Cougar trapped near Ellensburg after attacks on pets & livestock

ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) -- State Fish and Wildlife officers trapped a cougar yesterday north of Ellensburg that they believe has been attacking farm animals and a pet dog.

Capt. Rich Mann told the Daily Record the cat had to be killed because it's attacking livestock.

It's believed the cougar attacked and injured a dog Wednesday and that it also attacked a sheep and two pygmy goats in the same area.
