Hundreds Attend May Day March
Hundreds of marchers fill the streets of downtown Yakima this evening, speaking out on issues important to the Hispanic community.
The annual May Day March kicked off at Miller Park at the beginning of the hour, the march brings attention to immigration and labor rights.
One person says she recently returned from Mexico, and learned how immigration has impacted the community both in Mexico and locally.
"I learned a lot being over there, and I'm not scared to show that I'm an illegal," said Kimberly Sotelo, "It's nothing to be ashamed of, so I'm here to support everyone else as well."
The march covers several blocks through downtown Yakima, and lasts about an hour.
