Family & Friends Gather for Yesica Olivos' Funeral
Family and friends gather today at the funeral of a 20 year old Walla Walla woman whose body was found last Friday morning.
Yesica Olivos' close friend tell Your Local ABC they are glad arrests have been made in connection with her murder.
"I hope justice is served, she deserves it and her family deserves it," said Christian Fuentes.
Last night, Spokane Police Patrol Officers, SWAT and Hostage Negotiators surround the Knights Inn Motel in Spokane, eventually arresting 17 year old Carlos Valdez, believed to be the primary murder suspect in the shooting death of Olivos.
"I hope he [Valdez] gets locked up and gets what he deserves," said Esmeralda Fuentes, a friend of Olivos.
Two others, Breanne Rutherford and Andres Torres Rodriguez were also arrested at the motel for Rendering Criminal Assistance in the 1st degree.
Court records indicate an anonymous source told investigators he/she was with Olivos, Valdez and other people the day Olivos was killed.
The source said he/she went to sleep in the car after getting upset when finding Olivos and Valdez asleep in the same bed fully clothed.
The source said Valdez's girlfriend, Rutherford, was also upset.
The source said he/she woke up in the car to the sound of a gunshot and when looking around was at the scene where Olivos' body was found.
The source saw Valdez dragging Olivos' body to the side of the road, then Rutherford jumped in the drivers seat, Valdez in the passenger seat and they all drive off leaving Olivos behind.
Autopsy results confirm Olivos died of a gunshot wound.
A long time friend of Olivos said she's still in shock her friend was murdered.
"I thought it was a joke," said Zayda Enriquez. "It was sad because I grew up with her it. She always tried to make something good out if something bad."
The suspects are still in Spokane and the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office hopes to have them in court in Walla Walla by the end of the week.
Sheriff John Turner tells me all the suspects are affiliated with gangs but wouldn't say if this crime is specifically gang related.
