Hot Shots Tournament Tips Off
Thousands of people fill Yakima Avenue this afternoon for one of the biggest events in the City of Yakima.
Today marks the start of the 12th annual Hot Shots Tournament.
This year's tournament features a skills challenge, where people can win prizes for the fastest time, and an elite bracket, for serious competitors.
Last year's event brought in over 12,000 people, and local competitors say that's a good thing for the Yakima Valley and locals who want to improve their game.
"I've been doing it for about 5 years and I always come back because I like the competition here. It seems to improve my game every year and gets me ready for the season," said Trista Takesenemy.
The tournament will resume at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
Yakima Avenue will be closed through the downtown area to traffic for most of the weekend.
