Water Wells Deemed Health Risk Due to Fecal Contamination
We want to bring the latest on a story we brought you at the beginning of this year.
Wells providing water to a trailer park north of Milton-Freewater have been deemed a health risk due to fecal contamination.
Residents filed a petition for annexation to the city last year in order to connect water and sewer to the site.
Under the state's health hazard abatement act, that annexation was initiated.
Milton-Freewater will have to figure out the costs and earlier this year, it told us that could be millions of dollars.
Although the park is outside of city limits, it is still within the urban growth boundary.
The public health division of the oregon health authority released the preliminary report that shows the risk to public health is due to water contamination of E.Coli and coliform.
