Company Donates $7,000 to Veterans
The veterans community in Yakima receives a generous donation through a local company today.
Magic metals presented a $7,000 check to the Yakima Valley Veterans Coalition at the Yakima Chamber of Commerce.
That money will go towards helping fund annual Veterans Stand Down and Benefits Fairs.
The donation is one of the largest contributions made by a local company -- Magic Metals representatives say they wanted to inspire other companies to donate to our vets.
"Really, I think it's a small way to say thank you," said Jennifer Griggs, "I mean, we owe everything to the soldiers for the freedom we have today, and the lives that are able to live because of their service and their families and their sacrifices."
There are about 16,000 military veterans in Yakima County -- and about 16,000 in Benton and Franklin County combined.
