The Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers deploys 9 power team members to Denver, Colorado to assist FEMA with the major flooding.

The team is working on the Emergency Power Mission, preparing generators for the recovery process.

Mission manager, Chad Rhynard, has assisted FEMA with several natural disasters throughout the country and said he's happy to be able to help in Colorado now.

"We know this is an important time to help fellow citizens, we've got a lot of people effected by natural disasters and personally, it's of great pride to know that I can give back to the country in a certain way and I can speak for the team too, we all feel good about being able to help out," said Rhynard.

Rhynard said there's no telling how long the team will be there, but with the rain slowing down today, they hope they can come home next week.
