Man Arrested for the 17th Time in Hermiston
From the Hermiston Police Department-
On the 7th of September 2013, at approximately 5:45AM, the Hermiston Police Department arrested Jeremiah Ayets yet again, this time inside a vehicle not belonging to him. Ayers, 23 years of age, was arrested in the 600 block of NE Willow Court after an observant citizen noticed someone inside his vehicle parked in his driveway.
Ayers was processed at the Hermiston Police Department and lodged in the Umatilla County Jail on initial charges of Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Possesion of Hydrocodone. Officers of the department then began work on piecing together property Ayers had in his possession, with rightful owners.
Based on all this information, a search warrent was writted and served at the Ayers residence. A significant amount of property was seized as a result of that warrant. Ayers was ultimately charged with (4) additional counts of Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, (2) counts of Theft in the First Degree, and (3) counts of Theft in the 2nd Degree.
Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues. Detectives will be continuing their work this week to return property to owners.
