WW Sweets Roller Girls Look for New Rollers
The Walla Walla Sweets Roller Girls are looking for new members of the community to join the team.
Don’t skate? That’s okay as the girls can teach you. In addition to skaters, the club is also looking for referees, non-skating officials and other volunteers to help with the all-female, flat-track roller derby league.
With the regular season wrapping up October 5th, the team is now preparing for next season by inviting women 18 years old and older to join.
Starting in October, the team will work with new recruits twice a week at the Walla Walla YMCA.
Additionally, the Walla Walla Sweets Roller Girls do more than skate. The non-profit organization, which started in 2009, is also involved in giving back to the community, such as donating their time with HELPLINE Walla Walla, the YWCA Women’s Shelter and the Cancer Center at Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
