Multiple Cities Expected to Vote on Pot Moratoriuns Tonight
Local governments will vote on possible moratoriums for the production, processing and recreational sales of marijuana.
The Kennewick City Council is expected to vote on a 6 month moratorium at a meeting at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
The Richland City Council will also vote on a 6 month moratorium at it's meeting at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
The Benton City Council already approved a 6 month moratorium, but tonight at 7 p.m. it will vote on extending that moratorium an additional 6 months.
The Pasco City Council also has a six month moratorium in place and it will vote next week on the possibility of a 6 month extension.
All of the cities feel these moratoriums will buy some more time for rules to become more clear so when they issue licenses, zoning and regulations will be set.
