WSU gets $1M to diversify nursing workforce in eastern Washington


A new federal grant will help Washington State University's College of Nursing diversify the nursing workforce in the Tri-Cities and Yakima.

The grant from the Health Resources Service Administration, which exceeds $1 million will assist students from economically disadvantaged groups who are interested in pursuing nursing careers.

The program will allow WSU to reach and assist about 300 students in high schools and pre-nursing programs and 75 more who are pursuing Bachelor's Degrees at the university.
