Yakima Firefighters Save Cat From 25 Foot Hole

Yakima Firefighters made a special rescue yesterday.

They retrieved a cat that fell down a 25 foot deep hole in the yard of a home on the 300 block of North 23rd Avenue.

Firefighters say the hole was hidden by a large brush, and was likely created over several years from water erosion.

Firefighters used food to coax the cat into a basket that was later pulled up.

The pet's owner says the animal had been missing for two weeks.

The hole was later boarded up.
