A Holocaust survivor is scheduled to speak at Central Washington State University tonight.

At age 16, Doctor Edith Eger and her family were taken from their home in Kassa, Hungary, and sent to Auschwitz, where she was forced into slave labor.

Eger says she will describe the horrors and loss of loved ones before being liberated a year later.

As one of the youngest survivors, Doctor Eger says she has taken the responsibility of reminding people across the world not to make the same mistakes again.

"I consider them to be the future, and ambassadors for peace and good will," said Dr. Eger, "I hope to be a good rolemodel to the young people, so we can not have any genocide anywhere in the world."

The event will begin at 7:30 pm at the McIntyre Music Hall -- and is free to the public.
