Celebrity Chef Judges Walla Walla HS Culinary Competition
Walla Walla High School participates today in "The Cutting Edge Tour - Seeking America's Top Teen Chef" with Food Network Chopped Chef Maneet Chauhan.
Three Walla Walla High School students, who are being mentored by three Walla Walla chefs, are competing against 17 high schools throughout the United States.
17-year-old Ian Davidson, a junior at Walla Walla High School won the 40-minute cooking challenge, judged by Chef Chauhan. The other two competitors were 17-year-old Brandon Williams and 15-year-old Zachary Newby.
As the winner, Davidson receives a deluxe knife set and is eligible to win a trip to Washington DC. The Washington DC trip includes cooking with one of the featured chefs of the White House Chef Tour. The winner of the national high school competitions will be annouced at the National Restaurant Association Show on Saturday, May 18th.
Today's event is linked to the ProStart National Restaurant Educational Foundation which seeks to develop the best and brightest talent for tomorrow's restaurant and foodservice industry.
