Hanford High School recognized in three national listings
For the third time in recent weeks, Hanford High School’s academic program has received top recognition by a national publication:
- Newsweek’s list of the Top 200 Public High Schools in America shows Hanford High at #1076. The Newsweek criteria are: graduation rate, college acceptance rate, AP/IB tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB scores, and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB course.
- Hanford High School is listed in the U.S. News "Best High Schools" index. HHS comes in at #36 in the state and #1274 in the nation.
- Hanford High School was included in the Washington Post’s list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools. Only nine percent of the nation’s approximately 22,000 public and private high schools met the Post criteria.
“Our students, staff, and parents are committed to continually challenging themselves and that makes Hanford High an amazing public high school,” states Principal Ken Gosney. “It is absolutely cool to be smart, accomplished and hard-working at HHS. And it’s an honor for me to work with staff and students who push themselves to get better every day.”
