KSD seeks parent input on high school early release proposal
The Kennewick School District is proposing to reduce the number of Early Release Days for high school students in an effort to increase teacher training.
Currently, High Schools have 16 Early Release Wednesdays for training, dismissing students at 1:10 pm.
The proposal is to reduce the number of Early Release days from 16 to 8, dismissing students at 10:30 am.
This would be once a month and would increase staff training time from 24 hours to 28 hours per school year, resulting in eight fewer days of disruption.
The high schools and School Board would like parent input on the proposal by completing this survey.
This proposal would have no impact to current elementary or middle school early releases.
