Credit Union Robbed in Pendleton; Suspect Detained

A 22-year-old Pendleton man suspected of robbing a credit union this afternoon is behind bars.

John Zuzel was taken into custody without incident about 20 minutes after he allegedly robbed the Oregon First Credit Union in Pendleton at gunpoint just before 4 p.m. today.

Pendleton Police Chief Stuart Roberts says officers responded to the credit union located at 705 SW Emigrant Avenue minutes after receiving a 911 call.

Through various means of investigation, officers and detectives were able to establish probable cause to arrest Zuzel, who was detained in the 1000 block of SW 45th Street.

Zuzel was lodged in the Umatilla County Jail on a probable cause affadavit charging him of robbery.

No one was injured as a result of the robbery.
