MLK Jr. Boulevard Stays Open, For Now
A section of Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard in Yakima remains open today despite signs saying it's closed.
City of Yakima officials say the section between First Street and First Avenue was supposed to be closed off to traffic today in order to allow crews to begin a year-long construction project on an underpass.
However, the city spent most of the day adding more signs to the surrounding area in order to increase safety.
The city says it will officially close that section of MLK once the proper signage is in place.
