A 59 year-old Dayton man admits he killed his wife of more than 30 years last May.

This week, Joseph Shuba pleaded guilty to second degree murder with a firearm in the shooting death of his wife, Suzanne Shuba.

He was originally charged with first degree murder, but he was charged with the lesser crime as part of a plea deal.

Court documents state that Suzanne Shuba was shot with a .22 caliber pistol.

Probable cause documents quoted Joseph Shuba as stating that he shot his wife because he was "tired of her".

Shuba faces a minimum sentence of 15 years, 3 months.

However, the Columbia County Prosecutor plans to recommend the maximum sentence of 23 years, 4 months in prison.

Shuba is scheduled to be sentenced January 30th.
