Wapato High School Construction Forum

Construction continues on the new Wapato High School buildings, with the administration and office, along with two 2-story classroom wings the first to get underway.

The district is inviting the public to a forum today, Wednesday, Jan. 16th at 6:30 p.m. at Wapato High School.  The contractor, architect, the district’s project manager and district administrators will give a full briefing and answer questions from the community.

Wapato voters approved a $20 million school construction bond back in February 2011 to renovate and rebuild the high school. That bond money coupled with around $23 million in matching money from the state is paying for the $43 million project.

The entire project is scheduled to be completed in the Fall of 2014.
