Two Teens In Serious Condition After Being Shot

Two Yakima teens are in critical condition after being shot in broad daylight this morning in what police think is a gang related shooting.

Police say the shooting happened around 11 am on the corner of Fourth and Maple Streets.

There, they found a 15 year old boy shot in the head and 17 year old boy shot in the back.

Both boys were taken to the hospital, the 15 year old is not expected to survive.

Both Washington Middle School and Adams Elementary School were put on lockdown until earlier this afternoon.

We spoke with one parent who lives in that area after he picked up his child from school, and says he hopes an event like this will spur people to take action

"If this can result in anything, hopefully this news broadcast can send a message to the citizens of this community to pull together and try to keep our kids away from this life of crime," said Shane Jones.

Police have no suspects at this time.
