Kennewick police arrest four people after gang-related disturbance

Kennewick police arrest four people after a gang-related disturbance early yesterday morning.

Below is a news release from the Kennewick Police Department.

On Saturday around 02:14 AM, patrol officers and members of the Criminal Apprehension Team responded to the area of 1212 W 10th Ave, the K building for a reported gang disturbance.

The reporting party stated several gang members were trying to break into their apartment after their son refused to smoke marijuana with them.

Members of the Criminal Apprehension team arrived to find 5 subjects wearing gang related attire, standing near the K building.

Upon attempting contact with them, the subjects all fled on foot.

Four of the five were quickly captured and detained.

Known gang members, 21 year-old Edgar Torres, and 18 year-old Abigail Stanley were hiding in the K building stairwell.

Known gang members, 30 year-old Devonn Kinsey, and 21 year-old Ernesto Castillo-Lopez were captured a short distance away.

Castillo-Lopez had a handgun in his waistband and Kinsey had a loaded magazine in his pocket.

Torres was booked into Franklin County Jail on a warrant and cited for Obstructing, and Stanley was booked into Benton County Jail for Obstructing.

Kinsey and Castillo-Lopez were both booked into Benton County Jail on 72 hour holds on the charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
