Classes Set To Resume Monday At AC Davis High School
School is set to resume Monday for students at A.C. Davis High School in Yakima after a strange odor forced classes to be canceled today.
A handful of construction workers at the school were sent to a Yakima hospital after being exposed to an odor that was released from a condenser while they were demolishing parts of the school.
The workers were treated and released.
As a safety precaution, the school district canceled classes until the air could be tested.
"To be sure though, and to be absolutely positive that our students and staff remained in the safest condition possible, and that we didn't have an issue, a lab has been hired," said Yakima School District Superintendent Elaine Beraza, "They came in yesterday, and collected samples of the air from that area and from that building."
Beraza says the construction workers showed no further symptoms and returned to work today.
