Housing Market Improving
The housing market in Yakima County ends 2012 on a positive note.
According to a study from the University of Washington, home sales have increased about 13 percent compared to the fourth quarter of last year.
The increase is just above the statewide average of 12 percent.
Realtors say they've seen their numbers almost double since last year.
"Right now we're seeing a big influx of people coming from outside of the area," said Coldwell Banker broker Mike Gibbons, "From the Seattle area and from other areas of the country even. I think they're realizing that you're getting a lot for your dollar in the Yakima market.")
The median resale price of a home in Yakima County is about $160,000.
