Yakima City Council is meeting tonight to discuss alternatives to funding the city's road repair projects.

Council members Rick Ensey and Sara Bristol say they don't expect voters to pass a 30 dollar car tab fee measure if it is put on a ballot.

Instead, they are suggesting the council approve a city charter amendment, which would require the city to dedicate 2 million dollars a year to road improvements.

That money is expected to come from increased sales tax revenues and extra funds after the police station is paid off next year.
