Hot Shots Tournament

Another year has gone by, and the City of Yakima posts another successful one for sports.

The parks and recreation department says this year's sporting events brought in more people this year than the previous one before.

The annual Hot Shots 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament brought in almost 2,000 players from both around town and across the NorthWest, making it the largest turnout in the event's history.

The Gateway and Kiwanis ballparks also hosted almost 30 tournaments this year, featuring almost 700 youth and adult baseball teams, the number of tournaments not only brought more players to the fields, but also helped exceed concession revenue projections by $10,000.
