20 yr old Carmen Johnson

Twenty year old Carmen Johnson of Mabton is killed and another individual is wounded after a fight at a party just outside of Grandview early Sunday morning. Authorities say there may have been several hundred people at the paerty on Sand Hill Rd. The official release from the Yakima Sheriff's department is below.

On 12-15-2013 at about 0212 hours Yakima County Sheriff’s deputies were detailed to an address on Sand Hill Rd just outside the city limits of Grandview Rd regarding a shooting. 


Responding law enforcement officers located a deceased male on the property.  Another gunshot victim was also transported to Sunnyside Community hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound.  It was determined that this second gunshot victim was also shot on Sand Hill Rd. 


Investigation has determined that there was a large party of perhaps several hundred persons that was taking place at an address on Sand Hill Rd when a fight broke out.  During the fight multiple shots were fired resulting in the two persons being shot. 


The gunshot victim at Sunnyside Community hospital is being treated for a non life threatening gunshot wound. 


The deceased male at the Sand Hill Rd address has been identified as 20 year old Carmen Johnson of Mabton.  Family of the deceased has been notified. 


Investigators have not yet identified the shooter and ask anyone with information to contact the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office at 509-574-2500.
