Elementary students in Yakima get a surprise visit from 'ol Saint Nick today.
Special ed students at Gilbert Elementary got the chance to meet with Santa Claus and his helper, Edward the Elf.
Both men are members from the Kiwanis Club, visiting hundreds students with special needs across the Yakima School District this week -- it's part of a tradition started over 20 years ago by former club member, Jerry Henderson.
Henderson passed away 6 years ago, and members wanted to continue the tradition.
"It is a privilege to honor Jerry's memory and bring a little Christmas spirit to these kids," said Jay Carroll, also known as Santa Claus, "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
Santa and Edward the Elf will visit more schools in Yakima tomorrow -- before wrapping up their mini-tour.
