The first day of classes begin at Eisenhower High School in Yakima, but, some people are protesting the new building.

They're going to be holding a peaceful rally to raise concerns about why the building was not constructed with solar panels.

The group says adding solar panels will help make the building more energy efficient, and contribute to saving the environment.

"There is a real urgency here, and we need to raise awareness in all communities around the planet and around the globe of the fact that we need to act locally to start changing people's minds about the need to quit burning fossil fuels," said Ed Patton.

Patton says the rally will be held from 7 am to 8 am, while students and parents are arriving at the school.
