Fifteen members of a local all-star dance team are heading off to the 2013 World Championships in Florida after months of preparation.

The senior hip hop team from Eastern Washington Elite Dance represents a broad section of students from all over the eastern part of the state

They've won at least four national dance championships in recent years, and this is the second time the company has been at the World Championships - They were world champs back in 2008.

The current team consists of 13 girls and two boys.

Dancer Brenna Cowgill says team-work is the biggest key to success.

"I've just gone through so much blood sweat, tears, throw up, and everything with them - I really hope that we can come together here at the worlds and win a chmpionship," said Brenna.

"It's more than just dance. It's about learning to push yourself - body, mind and soul. Every day, every practice," explained coach Jackie Hightower

If the team wins on Friday, they will stay on in Florida for the championship round on Monday.

The finals will be broadcast on ESPN.
