Committee Passes Bipartisan Bill to Establish Manhattan Project National Historical Park

Efforts to establish a Manhattan Project National Historical Park moves another step forward.

Today, the House National Resources Committee approved a bipartisan bill that would make facilities at Hanford; Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Los Alamos, New Mexico a part of the National Park System.

Today's action by the committee makes the bill eligible for consideration by the full House of Represenatives.

Under the bill, the Manhattan Project National Historical Park would be established within one year of the bills passing.
