Peace group holds Global Zero Day rally in Richland
Half a dozen people gather in Richland late this afternoon to stand up for a world without nuclear weapons.
The group World Citizens for Peace, held a Global Zero Day rally at John Dam Plaza.
Residents held signs stating "abolish nuclear weapons" and "ban the bomb".
Today is the fourth anniversary of President Obama's speech in Prague, when he called for a world without nuclear weapons.
These demonstrators want to make sure the President keeps his word.
"The only way for all of us to be secure from the threat of nuclear annihilation, is for everybody to get rid of all the nuclear weapons. Because if we don't get rid of them, they're going to get rid of us" said Jim Stoffels, rally organizer.
Other groups across the world are holding similar rallies today as well.
