Shoplifters Nearly Run Over Security Officer

A store security officer was nearly run over Wednesday evening after a pair of shoplifters flee from the scene.
Sunnyside Police said two suspects, Jose Silva and Helen Guerrero, fled the Rtie Aid store on Yakima Valley Highway at the Mid-Valley Mall and got into a waiting vehicle with two other passengers.
The driver nearly ran over the security officer trying to stop the getaway car on its way out.
The suspects led police on a high speed chase through Granger until the driver struck a guardrail.
Silva attempted to run from the scene but was stopped with a taser.
No major injuries were reported, and all suspects are being held for investigation.
