Hope Solo's Grandma Appears In Short Film
The grandmother of soccer star and Richland native Hope Solo makes her short film debut and takes a walk in Hope's shoes as a goalie.
Alice Shaw is in a short movie called "Goal!" a story of a boy dreaming he's playing in a soccer game while on his paper route.
The movie constantly switches in and out of his fantasy- until he's faced with a penalty kick against a very intimidating goalie- Hope Solo's grandma.
Shaw says when her granddaughter heard about the film she thought it was hilarious.
"Hope has seen it now and she just roared- I have a clip of it now and hadn't even seen it all the way through myself and I'm thinking thats me," says Shaw.
