Perry Tech Honors Two Longtime Supporters
Shields and Plath Memorial
A memorial is unveiled for two longtime supporters of Perry Technical Institute in Yakima.
The school revealed a stone dedicated to Gene Shields and Fred Plath.
Gene Shields is one of the first supporters to make a cash donation to the school, and also served as an ambassador for the school on the Foundation's Board of Directors.
Fred Plath and his wife Dorothy Plath established the Fred and Dorothy Plath Scholarship.
Shields passed away in June of 2011, and Plath last January.
