Fair Begins Tomorrow In Yakima
The Central Washington State Fair kicks off tomorrow, and people are still planning on attending, despite the poor air quality.
The Department of Ecology is advising people to stay indoors as much as possible due to heavy smoke lingering over Kittitas and Yakima Counties.
The smoke comes from the Yakima and Table Mountain Complex fires
Some people say they will limit their time at the fairgrounds, while others think the fair should be put on hold.
"We'll probably go in the sundome, and probably not stay on the fairgrounds too much, and probably stay in there as much as we can in the sundome. And then probably go for maybe half a day," said Linda Onustock.
"This air is really bothering me. I've got some asthma problems. I mean, it's just killing my lungs, my throat burns a little bit. I think the fair should just take a break until the air quality is better," said Tyler McTee.
The fair will open its doors to the public at noon tomorrow.
