Firefighter suffers medical emergency, dies
An individual working as a timber faller on the Wenatchee Complex fire has died.
He became ill on the fire line about 20 miles north of Wenatchee yesterday afternoon and was treated by medical personnel and then transported to a nearby hospital.
The man passed away at the hospital last night.
At the request of the family, his name has not been released.
More than 4,000 firefighters are working to contain dozens of fires burning across Eastern Washington.
Most of the fires were sparked by lightning on September 8th.
