YVCC Names Court After Former Coach
Crosier Court
A former basketball coach at Yakima Valley Community College is honored in front of dozens of friends and family today.
The school's board of trustees unveiled the name of their gym floor as Ellwood Crosier Court, in honor of the school's longtime men's and women's basketball coach.
During his 37 years at YVCC, Crosier recorded over 500 wins, and won four NWAACC titles.
Crosier says he is extremely honored to be recognized for just doing something he loves.
"It certainly brought tears to my eyes. My experience here at YVCC, both as a student, an instructor and coach were just... Like I said, the labor of love. I am humbled by it, and I'm pleased it happened," said Crosier.
The school's basketball teams will play their first game on the new hardwood in November.
