A Yakima woman celebrates a century today with close friends and family.

June Chassagne Turns 100 years old today, and dozens of people celebrated that milestone at the Highgate Senior Living Center.

Chassagne is a retired secretary who worked in the Bio-Chemistry Department at the University of California, Davis.

She is also known for climbing the Great Wall of China when she was 86 years old.

Chassagne's daughter, Sandra Schieldge, says she could not imagine living 100 years herself.

"You've seen so much of life, that nobody can possibly imagine what it's like to see all the changes she's seen. I hope she lives another 50 years, she's a great person," said Schieldge.

June Chassagne says she would like to live at least 10 more years.
