Robotic Surgery At Kadlec
Kadlec Regional Medical Center is adding another arm to its operating room- a robotic one.
The surgery is much less invasive- meaning surgeons can make smaller cuts with the robot.
And its known as the most sophisticated surgery technology there is.
Currently the majority of the surgeries on the machine are hysterectomy's but surgeons say this new equipment is opening the door to many other laparoscopic procedures.
The 1.7 million dollar robot takes traditional laparoscopic surgery- and improves it, but adding more motion to the instruments.
That means less blood loss, better accuracy and significantly less pain for patients.
Many patients are able to go home the same day as surgery.
