Liquor Sales Rise
Liquor sales in Washington picked up in July, after a dip is sales in June.
July was the second month people were able to buy liquor in grocery stores and other markets and sales were up more than 15% compared with July last year.
State officials attribute the jump in sales to consumers buying again after skipping some purchases in June. Prices are still higher than under the old state-run system, but they went down a bit in July.
Studies show when liquor is more available to people, they buy more.
