Downtown Starbucks Denied

A developer's request to build a Starbucks in downtown Yakima is denied by city planners.
Real estate agent Chris Waddle proposed to build the drive- through coffee shop on the corner of Second Street and Yakima Avenue.
However, city planners say a drive-through building needs to be at least 100 feet from major intersections --- the Starbucks would only be 75 feet.
City planners say Waddle has two weeks to file an appeal or submit a new plan to meet their standards.
