Crews Fighting Over 40 Fires
Fire crews are trying to figure out how to combat over 40 confirmed wildfires burning in Yakima and Kittitas Counties.
But the total number of fires could be closer to 100..
The fires were caused by lighting during this weekend's storm, and fire crews are working to pinpoint the location of each fire today.
Crews say none of the fires in Yakima and Kittitas County are threatening any nearby homes.
Officials say there are over 125 personnel assigned to six of the 40 fires, those of which were closest to residential areas.
"Personnel is very limited, we're still getting resources arriving here and getting them out to the fires. The number of the fires that we know are out there that have been found by air, they are currently unstaffed. So those will be our next priority," said Sarah Foster.
Fire crews say they will form a plan of attack against the fires by tomorrow.
