Pedestrian struck and killed in Granger
A 42-year-old man is dead after being struck by a semi as he crossed a highway Friday night in Granger.
The Washington State Patrol says William Hegstrom of Issaquah was crossing State Route 223 at Bailey just after 9 p.m. when the accident happened.
Hegstrom failed to yield to on-coming traffic and was struck by a semi traveling southbound on the highway.
Troopers say alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the accident.
The driver of the semi, 46-year-old Donald McShane of Zillah, was not injured.
No charges will be filed.
