Over $2500 Raised For Victims of Taylor Bridge Fire

Over $2500 was raised this morning for victims of the Taylor Bridge Fire and more donations are being counted.

A 5K Walk and Run was held at Badger Mountain Community Park in Richland. The organizer Katy Clawson started putting the event together following last month's fire near Cle Elum that destroyed around 70 homes in the area and in Ellensburg. Clawson tells KAPP/KVEW, "I went to Central so Ellensburg has always been very close to my heart. I think anybody feels the same way if they are from the area or just stopped there, it's a cute little community. I wanted to do something that would benefit everybody. If something were to happen like this in the Tri-Cities, I would hope that towns in our surrounding communities would do something for us too."

243 people registered for the event. Over 20 businesses helped out in sponsoring the run. All the money raised is going to the Red Cross Disaster Relief.
